First of all a good photographer should be well prepared for that day.  In other words they should have a backup of all the important equipment.  That is one thing I make sure to check first in my San Diego wedding photographer service.  It would be horrible to have something break and not be able to take photos.So be prepared otherwise you won't even be able to do your job when something will fail.

The weather is one thing you can not control in a wedding event.You can plan everything else but the weather is out of your hands no matter what you do.As a photographer, well, bad weather is something you can plan for.Obviously you wish you do not need to deal with it.But you want to be ready for whatever weather may happen if you have been issigned a job to do the pictures.So here are some useful tips you can follow in case of bad weather in a wedding day.

First of all you need a back up plan.But no matter what you do you still need to prepare another option for those outdoor shots you planned to capture.  As a San Diego wedding photographer I usually don’t have to worry about this.  But there will be times that bad weather happens.The thing that you can do is make very sure that you have prepared a backup location if the weather does get bad.  With a backup place identified you can plan the photographs you will take.

Another thing you can do is plan to have more time for the wedding photos. What this gives you is the opportunity to cover or hide yourself when it is showering.When the rain slows down you can hurriedly take pictures.  I have had to do this several times as a San Diego photographer.It will work but it is not the best way to take photographs.

Finally you need to have umbrellas set up.In some situations the weather will not let up and umbrellas will let you take them anyway.  In my San Diego event photography business we already have umbrellas ready for many reasons.Taking photos with overcast skies look great in pictures in reality.So it is not all bad.

Big events happen rarely in people’s lives.Even most businesses do not experience big events every now and then.That is the reason why people like to document events in any way they can.And if you do this you may want to look for a great photographer that will you great work also.So here are some tips on finding a great photographer that produce great work in any occassion.

If you are having a big event like a wedding it is tough to decide on who to hire as a photographer.  In my San Diego wedding photographer service what I always try to do is show them my portfolio.But photographers have a trick up their sleeves by only showing the best shots that they have.  What I try to do is just take my last 4 weddings and let them see that.That way they would not think that only the best weddings were chosen.  This is a good idea for anybody looking for a good photographer.

People always like to take photos with their cameras.It is one of the most popular hobbies in the world.But what people do not realize is that they are just a practice away from being a professional.What I mean is that they can also take great pictures just like the pros just by practicing.It may not be at par with the beauty but it is very close.Especially now with the advent of many new digital cameras.So here are some ways on how you can take great photos.

First of all if you are taking daytime outside shots you want to learn how to effectively use the sunlight.  As a San Diego wedding photographer this is an important skill tomaster since most weddings are during the day.  So how you use the sunlight is make sure it isn’t overhead because it can wash out faces.Avoid also those bright rays of sun because it can affect the shadows.

Next tip I can give is you should learn how to use the flash. The secret is knowing how to keep your distance.  Because if you are too far the flash won’t help and the shot will be too dark.But getting too close is also a no-no because it will also ruin the shot.  These are things I had to learn the hard way as a San Diego photographer.

Finally you want to know how to position the camera.  People don’t realize how changing the position or angle of a shot can make a big difference.What’s good about digital cameras is the fact that you can take many shots for one subject so that you can find the best shot.  As a San Diego event photography service you have to take a lot of photos because you don’t know which ones will be good.So just take many shots as you can.

Being a good photographer is an art form.It is not as easy as it is made to sound because you can't just point and click.It goes beyond that.It demands talent just like any field of importance.  Some people are just born good photographers.While there are a few that can be improved.The secret to this all is having an understanding of what is a great photo and what is not.In this article what I am going to share are a couple of tips you can use to help you take great shots whenever they come up.

As a San Diego wedding photographer taking great photos is my job.  If I didn't do that I wouldn't get much work.  So knowing what makes a good photo is essential.In weddings as well as most everything else, having an awareness of all that is going on will be critical.  There is a lot of activity going on but if you know what is going on you can get prepared.You understand all the key moments of most weddings.  Just get ready to capture them.

Another tip I learned from being  a San Diego photographer is understanding human emotion.  You could be taking candid photos of people.Or you might find yourself in the position to take photographs at weddings. It doesn't matter.All that really matters is that you have a grasp of the subject with all the emotions that is happening to them.If you are able to you can reallly take some nice photographs of emotions.

And finally as a great photographer, you need to have great anticipation.  This is especially helpful for doing work like in my San Diego event photography business.Because in most major events there is plenty that is happening all around.By being prepared for some of the action photos that come up that you may miss, you will be ready to catch.

Lighting is essential to photographers

Lighting is one of the things that is very important in photography.  That is why you see so much money being spent on lighting equipment.  Proper lighting is the difference between a shot looking great or looking horrible.  With the importance of lighting here are some tips to watch out for in regards to lighting.

There are times when artificial lighting equipments may not be used.  Take weddings for example.In this case natural lighting is what you should utilize. As a San Diego wedding photographer I have to deal with this all the time.But it is not bad at all.Utilizing the natural lighting is what determines a photographer if he is great or not.An example would be overcast days when it is great to take outdoor shots.  But if you have a bright sunny day make sure to take the photos with the sun behind you.That way you can utilize the sun and give you a great shot and not ruin it.

Events are another thing that would need lighting.  Doing a lot of San Diego event photography has allowed me to see the importance of this. Especially when you are taking pictures at night.Utilizing one’s camera’s features is a must if you have to take pictures at night.  Most cameras have night modes so make sure you use them.

Another key lighting issue is when you are taking corporate shots.What you usually want when taking corporate photos are that the shots shoudl be crisp.Best way of achieving this is through the use of lighting.  I use artificial lighting all the time as a San Diego commercial photographer all the time.This is dissimilar to wedding photos where you would just usually use the natural lighting.What’s nice about these corporate shots is that they are staged and that way your shots would really look good.
