The secrets in increasing your car's lifespan

Posted in General by Admin on Nov 17, 2009

One thing almost everybody has are cars. Not everybody may own a house. But in general, most people need to own a car for many reasons.Living in America it is definitely hard to survive without owning one.  With that being the case it is important to make sure you make your cars last longer.

The main way to do that I tell all my clients of my San Diego auto repair shop is to make sure you regularly maintain your car.  It is similar to going to the doctor for checkups. Even though you are not sick, you are willing to go to prevent any sicknesses. It is basically the same thing with cars.Instead of waiting it is absolutely cheaper to take it in to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

The first thing you need to do is ensure that you take it in for regular tune ups. When you check all the fluids and spark plugs, they are called tune ups.You also need to perform several diagnostic tests to ensure that the major parts are working well.Doing this ensures your car from running well.It also helps when you pass the smog test.  In my San Diego smog check service we always recommend older cars to do regular tune ups.  Because the older your car gets the harder it is to pass a smog test.

The brakes to your car are another thing you definitely need to maintain.Because brakes that fail are dangerous, this is important. Plus they are seriously expensive to have repaired.Like most things, it is better to keep in good condition than waiting for it malfunction.  All my San Diego brake service clients are given step by step instructions on helping maintain their brakes. This always helps them keep their brakes longer so that they can save in brake replacement.

So to make sure your car lasts longer, here are a couple of ways you can do. In the long run good maintenance saves you money by having less major repairs.

Why you need to maintain your car to avoid auto repair

Posted in General by Admin on Nov 13, 2009

One of the duties every car owner has is having to maintain it’s engine. If you choose to not maintain your car regularly you will end up having expensive auto repairs for your car.If you really make it a habit of not paying attention to it, you will probably fail a smog check. What comes with a failed smog test is usually expensive auto repair bills you will have to pay. Or you might have the problem of not being able to drive your car.So we shall take a look at some things you can do to help you avoid having some of these problems happening to you.

First of all as mentioned in the previous paragraph you have to keep proper maintenance.  All my clients of my San Diego auto repair shop I stress to them how important it is to bring their car in regularly.  Regular maintenance allows us to find problems before they get big.And just like practically all auto repair issues, the earlier you can fix something the less expensive it will be.

Another thing I try to make clear is that they need to have their oil changed regularly.  Failing to do that is sometimes the root cause of why my clients fail in my San Diego smog check service shop. But if they do consistently this one thing, they will have a car that runs smoother.  Plus a well oiled engine will last longer for their owners.

Finally an often overlooked part of the car are the brakes. This a part of the car that is used everyday, but is so easily overlooked.  Whenever a customer of mine brings in a car to my San Diego brake service it is sometimes one of the most expensive repairs. So I make it a point that they understand what needs to be done to take better care of it.  Doing things like keeping it’s fluids level correct will help.

So those are a few things that are something you can do to help you not have expensive auto repair charges.  Plus they will also help you make sure you pass your next smog test.

Taking good care of two essential parts of your car

Posted in General by Admin on Nov 06, 2009

One thing about the cars in our society is certain, we need them. People in many places can't really survive without a car. Sure there are buses but in this busy life that makes it hard.Since cars are very important in our lives it makes sense to know the basics on how to take good care of them.So we are going to examine to major parts of our car that requires regular maintenance.

The first very important part of a car is the engine. This is like the heart of a car.It will die or stop working if you don't take good care of this part of your car. So in my San Marcos auto repair service I make sure my customers know how important this part is.And it is also simple to take good care of. If a person will just perform a regular tune ups and change oils he will keep his car in very good shape.

Next car part that is essential is the transmission. In being able to drive your car this is critical. Any use of your car ceases if your transmission breaks down.  In my Carlsbad auto repair shop I see so many broken down transmissions. Most of the failures could have been prevented. The main way to do that is to ensure the supply of enough fluids at all times. And to make sure to gently change gears and doing such always at a complete stop.

Taking good care of your car's transmission and engine isn't that difficult as you can see.  All it takes is a commitment to make sure to care for that part of your car.  I tell all of my clients of my shop that doing a little maintenance now will save them a lot of money later. They end up having cars that last a long time without any problems those who are willing to do that.  Those that don't end up with cars they have to bring in all the time with problems.

Why are there auto repair problems when it is cold

Posted in General by Admin on Oct 21, 2009

A lot of things change as seasons also change.Obviously, one of them is the weather. But do you know that our cars are affected also by weather change? It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.  If you are in a really harsh weather condition city it can really hurt if your car breaks down.In this article we would be talking about how weather can affect your car’s performance.

In my San Marcos auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries.  The main reason is because when it is cold your battery is usually powering a lot more things in your car.And that would result to it running harder.Your headlights are used more because the daylight is shorter in winter time.  Plus the heater takes more energy than an air conditioner. So to prevent battery problems you must always look at your batteries if they are in good condition before going out in harsh weather.

Frozen fuel lines is another problem that cars usually encounter during a cold season.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Carlsbad auto repair service.  But this is a big problem in cold weather cities.  What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms.  Well when it gets cold that condensation freezes up and stops fuel from getting to the engine. The best way to prevent this from happening is to always fill your gas tank full.

Tire pressure would be another one of those cold weather related auto problems.  Cold weather will make tires lose pressure. This would be bad because it can hasten the rate of making the tires go bald.Bald tires can be fatal on icy roads.  So this is a serious problem. So always check your tire pressure.

Those are common problems to cars in the cold.  If you do those tips you can avoid some of them. And you do not want to encounter those problems especially during cold season.

Maintenance of cars

One things a lot of people have a problem with is taking care of their cars. One main reason for this is because cars are made well. They perform well on the road and for a long time that people do not realize that cars also need maintenance.  But like anything with moving parts you need to maintain it.  If you don’t you risk having more problems in the long run.  So here are a couple of maintenance tips you have to do to keep your car running well.

First of all you have to have regular tune ups.  When people bring their cars into my San Diego auto repair shop I try to emphasize this to them.Regular tune ups can do a lot of good to your car.Well, obviously, it can keep all the parts in very good condition.  But it also will help you spot problems early. And just like anything else detection of early problems would lead to easier solution of the problem. When it comes to car problems you would want to detect it as early as possible.Because once it worsens it becomes more expensive.

Next thing to keep in mind and do is to regularly change the oils of your car. If you don’t you will have an engine that runs bad.  An engine that runs bad has many problems.Failure of a smog test is one result of these problems. Whenever I have a car fail in my San Diego smog check shop a lot of times I see they never changed their oil regularly. You can also ruin your engine if you do not change oils.

Another thing you want to stay on top of are your brakes. Brakes are a part of your car that can get expensive to fix when broken. The easiest soultion would be to regularly maintain it.  So I have all my clients of my San Diego brake shop make sure they maintain their brakes.

Those are a few things you should always keep in mind when you own a car.Proper maintenance would be good for your car in the long run.

Ways to prevent your car from going to the repair shop

A car is one of the biggest investments that people have. And it does not imply that it should be those expensive cars.Since it is such a big investment then you must make it a point to maintain it.It will last longer if you just take care of it just like everything else.If you do not take care of it then it will break down faster than usual. In this article, we will be discussing about the ways to takr care of your car.

So it goes without saying you have to do some regular maintenance for your car.  The good thing about that is the small amount of money you spend to maintain your car will save you in the long run.  I see it all the time in my San Marcos auto repair shop.My clients who are regularly maintaining their cars have lesser encounters with major repairs as compared to those who do not maintain their cars.So by spending now on maintenance would save you a lot of money in the future.

Some things I always suggest for my customers of my Carlsbad auto repair shop is to do regular oil changes. This maintenance thing would greatly help your car.  Keeping your oil good keeps your car running well.  It helps the engine last longer.  The funny thing is how inexpensive it is to do an oil change.  If you own a car you should always do oil changes for your car.

Another maintenance tip is to do regular tune ups.Tune ups are beneficial to yuor car because it makes your car running in tip-top shape. Plus when you do tune ups your auto mechanic can detect problems.  These are car problems that can go unnoticed if you never have your car serviced.

So there goes some of the things that one can do to keep their cars away from auto repair shops.  They are simple and they don’t cost as much as when you need a major repair.

How you can save more money by spending on auto repair

Posted in General by Admin on Sep 29, 2009

One thing the bad economy has done is caused people to want to save money.  Everybody wants to find as many ways to save money. One method most people don't consider is spending money on auto repair expenses.People in general look at it as expense.Instead they should understand it as investment.Because if they did take the time to put some money into caring for the car it will save them in the long run.  Plus there car will last longer which will save them more money. They will probably be able to hang onto their car for longer periods of time instead of getting a new one.

So here are some tips to saving with auto repair expenses.  In my San Marcos auto repair service I always advise my clients to do regular tuneups. If they do take a little bit of time to change any old spark plugs, plus check the fluids it will help.It will help your car's engine to run much smoother.Another thing it is going to cause it to run for a longer period of time.

Another piece of advise I give my clients of my Carlsbad transmission repair service shop is to take care of their transmission. The transmission is a very costly in terms of trying to repair it.In addition that is part of the car that is easily ruined.  So the best way to care for your transmission is to be easy on it when you drive.  Don't shift while your car is still moving.Another thing you want to be sure of is that their is enough transmission fluid.A transmission that is damaged could end up costing someone thousands of dollars in auto repair costs. The thing that will work the best for you to do is to care for it now.

So those are just some of the things you can do to cause your car to last longer. As previously stated you are going to spend the money now.  But if you do, you will save more money in the long run.  It has been proven time after time with my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair service shop.  As with anything fixing something is always more expensive then making sure it doesn't break.

Taking care of older cars

Posted in General by Admin on Sep 29, 2009

With the kind of economy that we are in right now people are making sure that their things last longer.Gone are the days when people would easily dispatch old things to buy new ones instead.Included in those items are cars.To make sure tht your cars will last a long time you e have to make sure that you regularly maintain them.  Because with cars if you don’t care for them they will break down.So here are some tips in maintaining your car.

First of all one of the biggest mistakes clients of my San Diego auto repair shop do is not change their oil regularly. What people don’t realize is that oil is like the blood of your car.Without its oil the car can’t survive and run.And if you do not replenish its oil regularly then the running condition of the car will be affected. This can shorten the longeviy of your car in the long run.You must regulalrly maintain the oil of your car if you want to make it last.

Doing tune-ups regularly should be the next thing that you should do. The result of not doing regular tune ups is you will have an engine that doesn’t run well. And this would result to failed smog tests.  In my San Diego smog check shop most of the cars that fail were cars that didn’t do regular tune ups.  It is something simple but can have a big impact on the life fo your car.

Lastly, you should take care of your brakes.  In my San Diego brake service business I try to let my clients know how important it is to care for your brakes.  This is one part of your car you don’t want to fail.It can also be very expensive to replace broken brakes.  Keep good amount of brake fluids. And do not be too heavy-ffoted when breaking.Prepare yourself to break as far as possible to the next thing in front of you so as to avoid breaking and stepping suddenly on the break pedals.

Do this and you will make your car last.

Understanding common car problems

Posted in General by Admin on Sep 25, 2009

All car owners experience some problems with their cars.It does not matter what brand of car you have.Cars are just made to last for a certain period of time and they will eventually start having problems. But there are things that you can do to avoid this from happening. Or if not avoid you can at least lessen the problems they give you.

First problem we cantal about is the problem caused by running your car on low oil. This one should not even be a problem.  But what people don’t realize is that cars burn oil.Since your car burns oil it will eventually run out of it unless you regularly check and maintain it.  That is one of my biggest pieces of advice for my San Marcos auto repair company.Be sure to check your oil levels all the time.If the level is low already then immediately fill her up.It will make you prevent those costly engine damages brought about by running your car on low oil levels.

Another common problem that people always bring to my Carlsbad auto repair shop is check engine light problems. It usually about your emmision when your check engine light turns on.But do not panic yet. It’s not something that can cost you a lot on repairs. You will want to consult the vehicle manual to see what it could mean exactly for your car.  You do want to eventually have a mechanic look at it but don’t worry about it for now.

Finally, clicking noises is another problem that car owners complain about their cars. This is mostly caused by rocks or debris that got stuck in the tires.  All you have to do is pull over and look at your tires. When you find it you can usually just use a pen or stick to pop it off of your tires. It is not a major cause of rpoblem for your car.  It is just one of those things that sounds like something is wrong.  Or it is one of those things that can be annoying. But it would not even hurt your car even in the long run.

So, there you have some of the most common problems with your car.  Hopefully it will help you not get too excited next time you have one of those problems.

Tips on how to save money on auto repairs

Posted in General by Admin on Sep 23, 2009

One of the things people fail to realize with their cars is maintenance.  They don’t realize the little time it takes to do can save them money. And it can also save them the time and hassle.Because maintenance will take a lot less time than repairs. So what are the ways to avoid spending on auto repairs?

Well, first thing you can do is to always keep your car tuned up. This is a very easy procedure to do.  But it is a procedure that will help your car last longer.  In my San Marcos auto repair shop I always encourage my clients to bring their car in for tune ups.It is not because I want to make more money. But for them to save a lot of money on repairs.

Another thing I always encourage is to always do oil changes. This simple procedure will go a long way.It will enable the engine to run smoother and it can also make it last longer.  Think of the oil as your car’s blood.  Just like a person, without blood, it won’t survive.A car with low oil levels can damage its engine severely.  I have seen it too many times where customers brought in a burnt out engine into my Carlsbad auto repair shop. And the reason for this is just due to low oil levels. So be smart and regularly change the oils of your car.

Finally I always tell my clients to watch out for their transmission.Just like the engine, the transmission is one part of the car that can also cost you a lot of money when replacing it.But maintaining it is easy. You just need to take care of it regularly. In my transmission repair shop, I always say to my clients that they should always watch their transmission fluid.Neglecting the level of it and make it go so low will ruin your transmission.

So there you have it.If you abide by these simple tasks then you will save a lot of money on auto repairs.  Plus your car will last longer.
